Visiting Juneau at Christmas
Just booked a job and am now heading to Alaska. Just in time for the holidays. So we have no winter gear anymore thanks to a family member who GAVE all our expensive things away instead of calling me to pick them up and no, I will not forget this! So what do you buy for Alaska? It's winter, so a warm coat, but it's also Juneau and it rains there, so rain gear too.

Our shopping trip began at the Outlets, The North Face and Columbia. We settled on Columbia, because of the water-repellant-ness of it, whereas everything at North Face is puffy.
I decided on waiting until I got up there and buy what the locals do. Salmon Sister Xtratufs.
Now that I am mostly outfitted for the trip, what to do once I get there? I mean Juneau is basically an island. There are no roads to get there, only by air or by sea, and the roads only go so far.
So here's a list of potential things to do:
The National Shrine of St. Thérèse, Juneau, is a ministry of the Diocese of Juneau and is located approximately 22 miles north of downtown Juneau.
Next up, the Mendenhall Glacier Recreation area.
I can't forget the reason for my trip. Perseverance Theatre.
This is where we'll start out and then find more when we get there.
Safe travels my friend.
