Creating an actor website - For Free
I am a big proponent of using the internet and finding free ways to promote yourself as an actor.
Essentials for your site:
1) Headshot (s)
2) Resume
3) Business email
4) Reel (s)
5) Social Media links
6) Bio
Using a template to create you website is the quickest way to get up and running. If you don't know code and want a drag and drop option, Wix is a nice place to start, if you already have your domain you can forward it to Wix, so the only cost to you is buying your name.
Other hosting sites like Godaddy and Squarespace offer sites as well, but design can be limiting.
A good thing to remember is the website is yours. You control it. If you're using your Social Media, like Instagram or Facebook Page, as your main point of contact, remember those can go away whenever the company chooses to do so. And all your information and work will be gone.
Before you start your work session, have all your information organized and ready to go.
Create a file on your computer and label it Website. Place all the information in it.
Pick your headshots.
Write your bio.
Have a link to your social media profiles, your reels that are hosted on YouTube or Vimeo.
Just keep it simple at first, so you won't be stressed out. Put something up, then if you want to make any changes you can, but at least your basic information is out there and you can be found if someone searches your name.
